Corals of the Sea

Welcome to Almogim (Hebrew for ‘Corals’) where you will find a luxuriously renovated, three level harbour-side villa inspired by simplicity and designed with modern, minimalistic themes. Romark has captured open-flowing concepts, creating a relaxed, serene and stylish ambience.

The home features extensive use of glass, commencing with a bespoke pivot entry door carrying large Samurai Sword-like, laser cut handles. Commercial grade frames were introduced to accommodate for the size and weight of this unique door. Its’ origins came from an artist’s impression which hadn’t been previously created.

Flowing down to the living level, you’re greeted by a 9.3 metre-wide opening glass curtain, with the picture-perfect harbour beyond.

Almogim was designed and built with the Owners’ input on every facet, including interior design. With the Owners coming from a hot/humid climate, temperature controlled underfloor heating was a must including the shower floor. All Sanitaryware and Tapware is imported, including the stand alone stone bath with matching stone stools and stone basins in perfect synch.

The design features shadow lines through-out, concrete stone benchtops, ‘high-end’ joinery, Italian imported porcelain tiles, timber flooring, imported feature 3D tiled walls, strategically placed African artefact in niches, imported designer lighting and ventilated ‘plaster shaft’ skylights further enhance this modern theme. Special consideration has been given to lighting design and mood lighting to transition from breath-taking sunsets to the darkness of night.

The design brief was however, to keep some of the traditional aspects of this residential precinct. Original raked ceilings were preserved wherever possible and assisted in keeping ceiling heights to their maximum. External facades were also kept in-place in respect of the Covenant. As such, Almogim was a somewhat challenging Project when preserving the heritage and history of its’ creation some thirty years prior.

Almogim was created for the entertainer in us. The spacious kitchen melds seamlessly with the dining and outdoor servery, which incorporates another Glass Curtain. The living area/pool terrace boasts a 9300mm opening, thanks again, to a Glass Curtain.

The Kitchen was designed and built with both technology and functionality in mind. The induction cooktop and exhaust hood are connected via Bluetooth and communicate to control the fan speed required, without any human intervention. A feature glass splashback highlights an image of motion and waves, thoughtfully sourced by the Owners. This reflects the ever-present boats and flotilla on the harbour.

The entertainment extends to a purpose-built home cinema featuring hifidelity audio/video with electronic ‘gold-class’ seating.

The ‘Control 4’ home automation system provides convenient functionality at a touch, onsite and/or remotely. This automation extends beyond expectations to the toilet suite, where, on approach, the lid will raise itself and present 15 different settings to the user.

The neutral colour palette of grey, white and charcoal tones throughout the home, add to the relaxed, modern and minimalistic atmosphere, enhanced by splashes of colour through artwork and accessories.

From the ruins of a near dilapidated harbour-side villa emerged ‘Almogim’; a warm and welcoming home for family and friends to share special times together.
